Best WordPress Training 2020

Learning how to utilize WordPress is an important step in the journey to creating a functioning website for your business. Our WordPress classes will teach you how to efficiently build a website, create blog posts, add content, and use plug-ins, all while maintaining an attractive front for your business. By the end of the course, you’ll also know how to effectively deal with issues on your website, and appeal to a wider audience by intensifying and perfecting your online presence.

Our Strategy for a Successful WordPress Training

We’ve divided our workshop into three sections to make the content more palatable:

  • How to get around WordPress and the admin area
  • How to create new posts and content
  • How to modify the appearance of your site and add plug-ins

By the end of our class, you will have a fully functioning website, set up on a hosting platform. After that, where you want to host your website is up to you; you can do it through Sneaker or another hosting company.

We understand that not everyone starts out on the same level, which is why we’ll adjust the class time to your knowledge and structure the course based off of where you’re starting in your WordPress journey. Being in the midst of a pandemic, we understand that in person training is not the most viable option. That’s why we are currently offering our course exclusively over Skype/Zoom video calls. However, once the outbreak ends, if you do choose to do in-person training, the location will be up to you.

We offer either group or individual training. With individual training, you’ll get a one-on-one experience tailored to your schedule, as well as your current strengths and weaknesses. If you choose to go with group training for your company, we will work with you to build a plan and get a sense of where your team is at in their WordPress journey.

Throughout the course, we’ll give plenty of lab time to make sure that our students know what they are doing and also give them time to come up with any questions.

Section 1: Introduction to WordPress and Admin

As aforementioned, section one of our workshop consists of an introduction to WordPress and admin. During this part of the course, we’ll brush up on your basic WordPress skills (or teach you the basics), and go into detail about who uses WordPress and why it’s so widely used. We’ll help you install and configure WordPress so that you’ll be able to learn how to get around your site as an admin. This section ends with an overview of the dashboard settings, and the WYSIWIG Editor.

Section 2: Creating New Posts and Content

During this section, we’ll teach you a little bit about Search Engine Optimization, how it should be considered before creating your pages and content, and how you can use it to draw traffic to your website. After SEO, you’ll learn about how to format and implement new pages and posts onto your site. You’ll get a better understanding of screen options, and how to interact with comments on your site. Then we’ll help you with media, menus, and finally, settings.

Section 3: Modifying Your Site’s Appearance and Adding Plug-Ins

Once the basic structure of the site has been established, we move onto the third and final section of this course. Here we’ll go back in and examine the site and work out any kinks. We’ll ensure that themes are cohesive, establish widgets, add sidebars, and work through plugins. Contact forms will be built, as well as connecting or creating a social media presence. We’ll finish off the course by making sure everything runs smoothly and looks good.

What to Bring

All you need to bring to our class is a laptop and any ideas you have for your new website. When participating in classes over Zoom/Skype, just make sure that you have a stable internet connection. Test it at https://fast.com. If it’s above 40mbps, you’re good to go. And if you need direction, we will be there to guide you to a finished product that you’re proud of.
